ELLIOTT NEWTON
“The Potter of La Quinta”

It is with great sadness we report that our dear friend passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Elliott spent his last days doing what he loved best — working with his crystal glaze ceramics.

 FEATURED ARTIST
As a traditional plein air artist, Delia uses the outdoors as her studio where the natural light provides her with inspiration for her paintings.
FEATURED ARTIST
Dirk Yuricich
Yuricich’s photography reflects a serendipitous approach to life; a love of discovery and working with what he finds, rather than planning and constructing a shot image.
ART UNDER THE UMBRELLAS
Saturday, November 14, 2015
At Old Town La Quinta
10 am to 4 pm
It’s Fun, Free & Fabulous!

To welcome our much-missed “Snowbird” friends back to this glorious desert resort lifestyle, Art Under the Umbrellas will assemble a diverse array of fine art and crafts in every possible media presented by 80 talented Southern California and Southwest based artists.

Adding flair to the day will be The Steve Madaio Band rocking lively entertainment for patrons as they explore the artist booths set along the streets of Old Town La Quinta, known for its montage of specialty boutiques and first-rate restaurants.

Stop by the LQAF table to pick-up menus and information on dining specials offered at the wonderful restaurants in Old Town, and the Village of La Quinta. Stuft Pizza Bar & Grill has a $5 Off coupon for take out, and Arnold Palmer’s Restaurant is offering a 20% discount for dine-in lunch.

 NOVEMBER 14th FEATURED ARTISTS
Both are past La Quinta Festival exhibitors
and first-time Art Under the Umbrellas artists.

California Impressionist Delia Bradford does not sketch before painting. Instead, she visualizes, absorbs the energy and mood of the movement, and then transfers them quickly to canvas.

Bradford’s oil painting, “California Wildflowers,” was the image used for La Quinta Arts Festival’s 30th Anniversary Poster in 2012.

Dirk has traveled to over 30 countries, capturing images of the landscapes, cultures, people, architecture, and foods of the lands he visits. Most of his photos are either artistic or photojournalistic in nature (rather than documentary or abstract) utilizing a broad spectrum of styles.

Old Town La Quinta is located in the Village of La Quinta. Take Washington Street south. Go west on Calle Tampico for two blocks. Old Town La Quinta will be on the left-hand side. Free parking is available throughout the Village.
