The Coachella Valley has been awarded the 32nd franchise from the American Hockey League. Starting in 2021 residents of Palm Springs and surrounding communities will be able to come watch the development team of the latest NHL affiliate in Seattle.
Just as in baseball, the team here in the valley will be players in the Seattle farm system who can be called up to play in the NHL. There’s no official name yet for our team.
The new 10,000 seat arena in Palm springs where the team will play will be largely built underground with no additional sports bars or restaurants. For more information check out this article.
