The famously fun Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade has a milestone anniversary this weekend – 50 years! The parade has been delighting families for half a century. I remember when I was a girl driving with my parents and siblings out to the desert for the day and enjoying the colorful carts and music. It is one of my cherished memories. This year, I plan to make more memories attending the parade with my niece and nephew.
The Golf Cart parade will be pulling out all the stops this year for the 50th celebration. The theme is appropriately fitting, “Through the Decades: 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and Today.” Scores of whimsically decorated golf carts and bands will march down my favorite shop-’til-you-drop street, El Paseo. We are especially looking forward to seeing the special guest band, USC Trojan Marching Band, The Spirit of Troy!
The parade steps off at 1pm on Sunday, Oct 26th, but we will be there early to enjoy a visit to El Paseo and to claim our seats for the parade. Can’t wait!
